International: Solarroof at the DIS Jakarta

SUNSET has implemented a Solar Roof Project in Jakarta at the Deutsche Internationale Schule (DIS) in cooperation with Fronius GmbH. On the School’s roof four different solar systems are installed, representing the wide range of solar applications possible.

Thanks to the solar systems the school is able to cover its energy needs in an environmentally friendly way. A large solar hot water system (Professional) heats up water for showers and for the pool. A small hot water system (Family House) heats up water for the kitchen. A PV Island system works as a backup for the electronic equipment of the school. A grid-connected solar system with amourphous solar panels will be used to feed the sun’s energy into the nations power grid.

The project is implemented as part of The Solar Roofs Programme of the Deutsche Energie-Agentur GmbH (dena) – the German Energy Agency.

The Solar Roof Jakarta illustrates the advantages and possibilities of solar applications in Indonesia and showcases solar technology “made in Germany", an innovative, high quality and sustainable technology.
During this project SUNSET will offer knowledge transfer about solar technology through seminars and trainings. After Namibia, Singapore, Shanghai and Cairo the Solar Roof Jakarta is SUNSET’s fifth successfully implemented project under the framework of the dena Solar Roofs Programme.
